How to Dry Blueberries?

Heat pump dryers are highly efficient drying equipment that can be used to dry a variety of fruits and vegetables, including blueberries.

Steps

The temperature setting for drying blueberries should be between 45°C and 55°C, which preserves the color and nutrients of the blueberries while allowing them to fully dry. Generally, the temperature control of heat pump dryers is automatic and can be adjusted according to the selected drying program.

Before drying blueberries, you’ll want to wash them carefully and sort out any bad or overripe blueberries. Place the blueberries on the tray of your heat pump dryer and follow the appliance’s operating instructions. Drying time depends on your equipment and the number and humidity of the blueberries, usually 4 to 10 hours.

Attentions

Once the blueberries are completely dry and free of any moisture, they can be removed from the heat pump dryer and stored in an airtight container. Dried blueberries can be used in yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, and more, or eaten as a healthy snack.
